New Limited edition Cover art to come out for the 25th anniversary of NANA. Anime lovers know of the cult classic series "NANA". Series creator Ai yazawa famously drew inspiration from her favorite designer, Vivienne ,Westwood and incorporated the British designer's choices into the clothing choices for her characters. Westwood became very popularized and synonymous with punk youth cuture and in a way, a symbolism of rebellion. All themes representative of protagonist, Nana Osaki, whos wardrobe also had a direct impact on the popularization of Westwood among Japanese youth at the time and the Japanese punk subculture.
Whether it was the plaid skirts, combat boots, or specifically the "armour" ring seen on Nana, the marrying of two arts like anime and fashion demonstrate the fluididy between all forms oof art and how inspiration knows no bounds.
