Outfit of the Day: If Rory Gilmore was a Fashionista, this would be her outfit of choice

When you think of a classically preppy look you may think of a New England Fall: Crisp apples, multi colored leaves aesthetically scattered across the street...uptight new england elitists with dorky, outdated argyle sweaters with squeeky clean "goody two shoes" energy?

I love this outfit and how I styled it for so many reasons. It brings in the aspects of preppy fashion I love so much, while still remaining fresh, young, and relatable. I have a hunch that knitted tights with fun patterns will be a trend this fall, and when I saw this pair from Swedish Stockings, I immediately had a vision for them and knew I had to have them. They're such a fun and easy way to add personality to your outfit (bonus because they're functional and will keep you warm during the colder months). Pairing them with this equally as preppy and classic, grey pleated skirt from Rebels+Lovers. I felt the skirt helped complement the visual focus ( the tights) while being a cohesive "member" of the outfit, so to speak.

I couldn't decide between wearing my thrifted Ralph Lauren button up from 2ndstreet vintage on its own or not, so ultimately I played around and decided I liked how it looked layered underneath my green pullover sweater from uniqlo. Clean but subtly visually titillating. The Chain pearl Belt is from eBay, and honestly, I dont know why I felt compelled to add it to my outfit. I just had a "what if" thought that I wasn't mad at, decided to try it, and loved the element of texture it brought to the look. I finished off with a clean ( and admittedly predictable) boat shoe with gold-plated hardware and my Badgley Mischka Bag from The real Real, and that was it.

OH! I almost forgot- I fear nobody adores a sporty moment more than me so I added a baseball cap (from Culture Kings). The juxtaposition between the "almost stiff" preppy look and the laid back sportiness of the baseball cap just creates such an interesting dynamic to the eye.
