Outfit of the day: Putting a Maximalist Twist on the Classic Fall Trench Coat

Originally, when I saw this coat on Andreeva's website, I passed it up. I have one rule when I'm undecided about a clothing item- If I pass it up and I cannot get it out of my head, then I'll buy it. It (sometimes) stops me from making impulse buys!
Fall is right around the corner, and one trend that is forever a classic is the Trench coat. There are many different variations of the classic piece, but me, being the maximalist girly that I am), opted for a more playful version of the classic piece.
I love this outfit for so many reasons:Im definitely a maximalist fashion girly, so this fit checks every box for me when it comes to that! This trench Can be a bit intimidating to style for most people but I'm always up for a challenge! I decided to stay in the color scheme of the coat; the coat itself already is kinda buys with the chocolate brown and aqua blue swirls topped with the slightly reflective finish of the jacket, I felt there was no need to put on anything that would "fight" what the jacket was already bringing to the table.
I wanted the base of my outfit to be brown to "ground" (no pun intended) my outfit, and immediately what popped in my head was this deep, chocolate brown off-the-shoulder dress I already had from Revolve. Seeing as I don't have that many shoes ( I know, shocker) to choose from, I opted for these knee-high brown faux alligator skin printed boots Ive had fro Ages from Shoe Dazzle.
I liked the idea of gold, subtle gold accessories for a nice complementary contrast ( gold Bangle from Amazon Fashion). I had giant golden foil-like earrings, but one fell off my ears and broke while I was shooting! Luckily, I dont feel the outfit needed it.

I'm an advocate for dressing however one feels most comfortable; HOWEVER, I want to say, let this outfit be your sign to not be afraid to break the mold. When we think of fall, we naturally think of neutrals ( Ground Breaking), but I encourage you to indulge and have fun with fashion. Experiment with colors, new patterns, and textures as well. Dont let fall fashion be a "uniform" for you, but more so, let it be an expression of your individuality. What else is the point of these clothes, if there's no one brave enough to wear them?
XOXO
